As of July 2026, the only way to contact the 24/7 Derbyshire Mental Health Helpline and Support Service is by calling 111, replacing the old 0800 number which has now been switched off.
Patients can contact the helpline by calling 111 and then selecting the ‘mental health’ option (option 2). Please note this option may vary in other parts of the country, which puts you through to your local helpline team who can tell you about local support services.
The dedicated support line serving deaf patients will continue to operate as usual. First, call 111 using the SignVideo app or SignVideo website. This will connect you via video link to a BSL interpreter. The BSL interpreter will also need the name of the nearest town or city you are calling from.
The helpline is just one of the options for local people with urgent mental health needs. There are also crisis drop-in services and safe havens, which you can learn more about on the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust website.
