Works 4 days per week at RPC South
I undertook my Registered General Nurse training in Derby and Qualified in 1994, I then worked in Gynaecology for a couple of years after qualifying in the now Royal Derby Hospital. During a break from nursing I did a BSc Botany & Zoology, at the University of Sheffield, but continued to nurse part time throughout. I started at RPC Clay Cross as a Practice Nurse in 2000, gaining a wide variety of experience in Primary Health Care, and gaining Specialist Practitioner status on the Nursing & Midwifery Councils register with the attainment of a B.Med.Sci Specialist Community Nursing & Health Care Practice Degree, again at the University of Sheffield. I have been a Non – Medical Prescriber since 2011 and am on the ARTP / BTS register for those certified in performance and interpretation of Spirometry.
I am currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice at Sheffield Hallam University, and have special interests in Chronic Disease Management (Respiratory and Diabetes), Dermatology, Minor Illness’s and of course Women’s Health.
