Action Medical Research: Race The Sun Fundraiser

On Saturday 7th September in lieu of the annual RPC Charity Marathon Walk, 4 of our very own will be taking part in Action Medical Research‘s Race The Sun. Dr Bentley, ANP Michelle and administrators Julie and Kathy will be biking, hiking and paddling from dawn to dusk around the picturesque town of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District, raising money to save and change children’s lives through medical research, developing treatments, vaccinations and cures.

The challenge will see our all women team competing against other teams from across the UK in a race against the setting sun and includes a 40 mile bike ride around beautiful winding roads, a steep 10.5 hike up to Latrigg finishing with a 2 mile kayak off the shores of Derwentwater.

Whilst the race itself is all fun and games, the cause behind the race is what will keep the team going through the challenging course.

Action Medical Research are the leading UK-wide charity dedicated to funding vital research to help sick and disabled babies, children and young people.
