Dr Ruth Bentley

BSc MbChB

Doctor

Works 2 days a week at RPC East

I trained in Medicine at Sheffield University as a mature student after a year in agricultural college then a neuroscience degree and graduated in 2003.

I completed my GP training in Chesterfield with the hospital based part of my jobs at The Royal.  I have continued to work in some form or other for Chesterfield Royal Hospital since 2009 as a School Doctor and with the Children in Care Health Team in the past.  I also work as one of the Named GP’s for Safeguarding Children for Derby and Derbyshire CCG, but do not hold a direct safeguarding role within RPC.

The experience gained in my previous roles can be very helpful when considering children who may be experiencing difficulties or challenging behaviours, which is an area of special interest for me.

I have four children who are growing up fast, and two dogs who keep me very fit walking me over fields whenever they get the chance.
