Clinical Lead for RPC South

Works 3 days a week at RPC South

I graduated from Sheffield medical school in 2006 and then completed my foundation and GP training in hospitals and GP practices around South Yorkshire. I joined Holywell Medical Group in 2013 and have been with the practice through the transition to Royal Primary Care.  I chose general practice as my speciality as I love the wide variety of medical problems that you get to see every day and the unique relationships that you build with patients. I am the lead GP for Riverdale care home which specialises in the care of patients with dementia. I am also a trained prescriber of opiate substitution therapy(methadone/subutex).

I am also the Clinical Governance lead at the practice which involves reviewing NICE guidance to ensure our clinical practices are up to date and auditing our performance in different clinical areas to identify where clinical guidance needs changing or updating. My main areas of interest are women’s health and sexual health. I am a trained coil and implant fitter and can also fit ring pessaries. My aim is that all women should have awareness of and access to all contraceptive options
